Jeannine Hendy has supplied us with a range of ash glazed functional ware. They are made in both dark and light clay bodies.
I've already
blogged about the delicious lasagna at the vegie bar, but we ate at a few other places over the weekend! After the
storm on Saturday, we didn't want to venture too far from home so we popped on over to the EBC. Trashy and familiar, I elected to eat the classic vegan parma at the EBC. Danni went for the shepherd's pie (TVP and potatoes and vegan cheese, I think) from the specials board. This was really tasty!

New to the store are these porcelain vessels by Amy Simmons. I like the way the decoration continues on the inside of the bowls and cups, there are even circles on the inside of the lidded jar.

The next Moreland BUG ride is scheduled for the 13th and 14th of March and we will ride the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail!
The distance is 38 km each way. The rail is mainly flat and there are lot’s of stops along the way (a gentle rise over Mt Evelyn – trains don’t climb so well eh). We plan to stay overnight in Warburton and ride back to Lilydale on the next day. They have a lovely campsite in Warburton, right next to the Yarra River. Cabins are also available and there are a few Bed & Breakfasts in Warburton.

After doing an overnight shift I wheeled my bike out into the oppressive morning air. It was cool, but the humidity was high, leaving a wet sheen on any car parked out in the open. 132 Lygon St, Brunswick East; 03 9380 5339With the launch of Cheap Eats 2010 last week, Bar Idda in Brunswick East found itself in the limelight, picking up the Cheap Eats Champ award. The plaudits reminded me of our early-summer meal there, which I hadn't got to writing up.Bar Idda opened unobtrusively into the space formerly occupied by Rumi (who moved down the street a bit to bigger premises)

More madness from Debbie Harman - spoons and bowls.
