I grew up in the Hunter Valley N.S.W and after finishing highschool I went on to train as a photographer for 5 years at both TAFE and university. These were the days when all things were digital and fun was to be had in the darkroom with chemicals, but when the times changed and things went digital, I turned to a sewing machine instead and enrolled in a clothing production course at TAFE. One
night, one location and two reasons to celebrate Australia’s continually evolving fashion industry.
Thursday evening saw the amalgamation of fashion and writing with the launch of LIFEwithBIRD’s new flagship store ‘Project 7’ and the simultaneous launch of Mitchell Oakley Smith’s debut title ‘FASHION: Australian and New Zealand Designers’.
After having opened their first LIFEwithBIRD flagship store in Melbourne’s GPO earlier this year, designers Nicholas Van Messner and Bridget McCall decided to dip their toes into a location Van Messner describes ... read more

Going through my pictures, I found this one, not a great photo, taken back on the 25th of April 2010, at The Old Bar, band unknown.

Two diverse performances this evening at the MIUC. A new duo featuring one of Melbourne's most exciting emerging free jazz/free rock drummers, Gareth Thomson, with one of Australia's most celebrated contemporary jazz guitarists, Steve Magnusson. And Publik Orgy, featuring three of Australia's most audacious performers, who have been traveling the noise-waves for many years bringing you the outer sounds from way out.
• Steve Magnusson (guitar) and Gareth Thomson (drumkit)
• Publik Orgy, featuring: nylstoch (drums/vox), hart (bass/vox) and campbell (resonant-feedback)
