I have been a busy lady lately! busy making lots of lovely new clothes for the shop.

There is 3 more blue dresses (this is the last of the fabric so get in quick) And lots of cute shorty shorts, in different colours too :)

I redrafted my shorts pattern to have nice deep front pockets....yay for pockets.

Recently we organised for one of our represented artists to travel her solo exhibition from Pieces of Eight to Metalab, a wonderful contemporary jewellery gallery in Sydney. Djurdjica Kesic's 'Nomad' exhibition has just launched at Metalab in Surrey Hills. The exhibition runs until March 25th and this Saturday Djurdjica will run a workshop from the Metalab studios. Dont be fooled by the name Willowan Lights if it conjures up images of hippies dancing around to 1970s folk music with flowers in their hands. Willowan Lights sound couldnt be further from those images. The sound is an original and unique mixture of complex guitar instrumentals combined with catchy melodies.
In 2004 school friends Josh Storham, Jon Sordello and Dave Jesser attended a private party. The band playing for the night welcomed the trio to get up and jam whilst they took a break. The response was so overwhelming that the beginning of Willowan Lights was formed. Early 2009 bass guitarist Joel Stork joined the band and the line up was complete.

Mike O’ Meally’s film stills are truly amazing. Today I was fortunate enough to have Lamington Drive all to myself, and enjoyed wandering through this show. For those who came in late, Spike Jonze invited Mike to hang out on set for a week, and capture the wild rumpus on film. Printed on 30×40 canvas, these images are lively, dark, and playful.
Mike O’ Meally’s work is on show at Lamington Drive until 13 March.
