vodka but no tears

windsor food drink

Borsch Vodka and Tears on Chapel St in Windsor (south of High st) is one of my favourite bars in Melbourne, and the food is amazing. I have not been there for months and my latest visit was as enjoyable as all the previous ones. Try it, hopefully on a night when you don’t have to go to work the next day. BVT has been well reviewed and blogged about here and here.

men’s reproductive choices

social issues sex and gender childfree books

electric cars and dreams of the future

It’s strange what the future creates. As a child I dreamed of flying cars, electric cars, travelling in space and living in a dome underwater as possible future activities. Actually, we also did get electric cars, but GM then destroyed the beautiful technology they created.…

It’s one of the most depresssing films I’ve seen. It’s even more depressing than Un couple parfait, which also starred Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi (she is in Le temps qui reste and Ozon’s previous film 5×2). Despite this very poor sales pitch, it is definitely worth seeing.…

farmers on parade

social issues politics docklands

I was looking out the office window on Monday 20th and saw horses and riders crossing the bridge over the railway lines at the bottom of La Trobe St. It looked like a parade, and it was only later that I read it was a political protest. I totally missed the message!
