It features stories on the suburb of Fitzroy in Melbourne, Australia, and reflections on life from a socially libertarian, economically socialist, culturally anarchistic and radically individualistic point of view.

"I hate almost everything you write yet I cannot look away. You’re better than [Andrew] Bolt." User comment.

full throttle

I spent yesterday at Phillip Island enjoying the Australian MotoGP. After a 2 hour ride through the brisk early morning air (and a special pit stop in Grantville for a warming flat white and a delicious meat pie) you arrive at the island and park your bike, trying to remember where.

I got there in time to see the morning warmup session, where for the first time in Australia (due to a new rule change for this year) the riders are allowed to do practice starts.

In general admission you can watch from almost anywhere around the outside of the circuit.

The first lap of the MotoGP race was extremely exciting as the new Australian World Champion Casey Stoner went from third on the grid to first as the bikes went into the first corner of the first lap. I then walked towards the podium area so I could see the winner Casey Stoner, 2nd placed Loris Capirossi and 3rd placed Valentino Rossi on the podium.
