Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix – the paddock at night
The track during the day was a relatively quiet place to be. As dusk faded to night the track came alive with crowds of people. The lighting was more than functional as the enormous spaces had been cleverly designed to look beautiful. No daytime Grand Prix could compete with this. The stage and huge screen in the Padang. I was watching the 2008 season highlights on the screen on Saturday night between the third practice session and qualifying in the middle of the crowd. F1.com has some astonishing video summaries of the 2008 races, and these played to keep the crowd amused. For newcomers to F1 this would have been the perfect education.

The beautiful balloon-like lights located around the paddock were enchanting.
