lunch at Gluttony on Smith St

I’ve been spending a lot of time on Smith St recently. On a recent Saturday I met a friend for coffee at Gluttony because I have not had cake there for such a long time and it was calling to me: we have missed you, come and eat cake. Gluttony was a favourite of mine years ago, when I would meet friends there and spend a relaxing afternoon philosophically solving all the world’s problems one cake at a time. But this time I realised I had forgotten to have lunch, and it was 4pm.

Instead of cake I chose what could be the world’s biggest sausage roll, which came with salad and fantastic chutney. I’ve always looked at Gluttony’s range of savoury foods, and they have lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, but this is the first time (that I can remember) that I have eaten savoury food there. It was tasty and reasonably priced, and the coffee is always good. I love being able to rely on old favourites!

Gluttony is amazing, I’ve never managed to finish a meal there (which leaves me feeling a little guilty).
