About Fitzroyalty

Fitzroyalty - hyperlocal news and reviews about Melbourne’s first suburb: Fitzroy 3065 - is a local news and reviews site for Fitzroy residents and visitors. Read the about and hyperlocal pages for more information.

It features stories on the suburb of Fitzroy in Melbourne, Australia, and reflections on life from a socially libertarian, economically socialist, culturally anarchistic and radically individualistic point of view.

Eno at Luminous in Sydney

I’m flying to Sydney today to see the Luminous festival curated by Brian Eno. I’m going to see his ‘lighting the sails’ projections on the Sydney Opera House, his self organising ‘77 Million Paintings’ visual projection and minimalist soundscape, and the Luminous finale called ‘Pure Scenius’, a live show in three parts performed over 6 hours by Eno and other musicians including Underworld’s Karl Hyde and The Necks. It’s an esoteric art porn overload and I’m so excited!
