While out and about in the south end of Fitzroy last week I had a great dinner at the Union Club hotel: snapper with harissa potatoes and a cauliflower, chick pea and preserved lemon salad. I used to go there quite a lot and it was as cosy and welcoming as I remembered it to be. In a recent conversation some friends suggested that the quality of the food had declined, but I did not find this to be true based on the meal I had. The Union Club remains a favourite Fitzroy back street pub.

This has become the regular for us now – grown tired of the Napier. Meals at Union have been amazing. Such a cozy place, always warm and food to die for. The Union Chicken Burger is the best!
