Postmodern Motorcycles coming soon to Fitzroy
While wandering down a laneway photographing some new street art last week I met Jim Clark (no, not the late Formula 1 world champion – that would have been weird) and found possibly the coolest thing I have ever found in a Fitzroy laneway.

Jim owns an old warehouse that is the workshop for his company Postmodern Motorcycles (website coming soon).

Jim gives Honda postie bikes the retro cafe racer treatment, kind of like Deus ex Machina (but more affordable) for the discerning urban rider who wants something other than a scooter.

Apart from his own vintage BSA (below) the bikes pictured here are demo models that will be ready to test ride soon. I’ll do another post when Jim’s open for business with more details.

The saddest thing Is that they’ve even ripped off the Deus font. And managed to find an even shitter air cooled bike to tart up than the SR400. Quite an achievement.

I think these bikes are excellent.

The look cute but there’s massive inner thigh burn waiting to happen on the exhaust with the tiny seat replacement. At least the wide postie seat would help your leg clear the hot spot.
