dinner at the Pinnacle, North Fitzroy
Visiting old favourites due to nostalgia rather than recent recommendations can lead to disappointment, but the risk can also be rewarded. With this in mind I cheerfully stepped through the door into the Pinnacle on St George’s Rd in North Fitzroy recently for the first time in several years. I used to go there regularly when I lived in North Fitzroy, usually in the company of fellow nocturnals who liked to play pool and drink beer and who would leave politely but reluctantly at closing time. The food was always good too.

It’s surprising therefore to find that Pinnacle is another place that has been overlooked by food bloggers. My friend and I really enjoyed our meals and left our plates empty. Here is my pork belly with dumplings and roast pumpkin and my friend’s steak with green beans. If I still lived around the corner, the Pinnacle would still be my local.
