EatDrinkBlog – the Australian food bloggers conference

I’d like to congratulate all the amazing people who organised EatDrinkBlog (the Australian food and drink bloggers’ conference) held at Essential Ingredient in Prahran on Sunday 21 March 2010. They included Ed of Tomatom (opening the conference, below), Reem of I am obsessed with food, Mellie of Tummyrumbles, April of My Food Trail, Jess of That Jess Ho and Tammi of Tammi Tasting Terroir who moderated the conference.

A video of Ed speaking is below.

It was well run, exciting and informative to attend, a pleasure to present at and a lovely social day where I was able to meet many of the bloggers whose work I enjoy reading. See the conference site for a complete summary of the day, links to all the other bloggers who have written about it and a list of speakers on the panels. Read more from the Age, SBS and on Twitter at #EatDrinkBlog.

I have embedded my presentation slides below.

Given the success of the conference, and the many bloggers who were not able to attend the event that was limited to 45 participants, I’m sure the conference will be bigger and better in 2011.

While at the conference, we enjoyed lunch provided by St Ali and drinks by the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs Mineral Springs Co. Below: participants queing for sandwiches and the four kinds of cake! Cake! More cake!

  1. It’s difficult to imagine how it could have been any better – mad props to all the organisers! I’ll be signing up in 2011 for sure.

It was also great to finally meet you in person, Brian – keep me in the loop for any potential unimelb meet-ups. :-)

  2. An excellent day, and it was great to meet you as well Brian.

Love the photos of the little cakes, although it has significantly intensified my need for a sugar hit!

  3. Great to have you on the panel with me. Great presentation as well and thanks for sharing :)

  4. Great to meet you Brian, and I have put that geodata mashup in my blog! I love it!
