It was the belongings of a junkie evicted from a house on the corner.

I live right on that corner in Argyle st, and it didn’t really bother me, althought I felt bad for the junkie. Initally I thought it might have belonged to one the hoards of drunken d-heads that scream their way through a kebab in Argyle st every Fri/Sat night.

An update on this garage sale! Nearly two months (and many different dumpings – including beds, mattresses, and a box filled with a vacuum cleaner and leaves) after this photo was taken, the red and white bag has made a return to the corner, presumably due to a re-eviction.
