lunch at the Rochester Commercial Wine Tavern, Rochester

On a recent motorcycle road trip I passed through the tiny Victorian town of Rochester, and stopped at the Rochester Commercial Wine Tavern for lunch. Their veal schnitzel with very garlicky mash and sauteed vegetables was delicious and was exactly what I needed to warm my insides and placate my hunger. And at at $15.50 it was very modestly priced too. If you’re passing through and need a good meal, it comes highly recommended.

  1. It’s good to know theres a Victorian Pub out there that actually serves a veal schnitzel!
I have been looking in vain for a good veal schnitty since my move to melbourne a couple of years ago, but the standard offering is always chicken. If anyone knows of a decent one in the Fitzroyalty area, would love to know about it!
