The September ‘tell me where to go’ winner, with 42 of the 160 votes, is the Workers Club on the corner of Brunswick St and Gertrude St. I visited on a Thursday night with a friend and we enjoyed an excellent meal. My friend loved her salmon and noodle salad and I was very satisfied with my goulash with nokedli and sour cream.

Most meals on the menu are less than $20 and there is plenty of variety. My friend asked some questions about a couple of the dishes to confirm whether they met her dietary requirements, and the bar staff were most helpful.

I can’t find a single blog review, though the Age reviewed it a year ago, and I am surprised. I’m not assuming I have written the first review (Google is not perfect), but it seems like I have. The food is very good and deserves more appreciation. The Workers Club works for me.
