On the relatively quiet southern section of Smith St on the Collingwood side is a small cafe that makes a very good strong coffee. Espresso 24 has been there for some time but I visited for the first time only very recently, and wondered why I have not done so previously. For every fashionable, high profile cafe, like Proud Mary, several others exist in close proximity that receive far less attention, such as Hutch or the Social Studio. Sometimes it’s satisfying to try the coffee less sipped.

What did you think of the coffee? I tried Espresso 24 once and it was ok but I found it a little bitter…
It is good to get away from the crowds though!

I thought the coffee was good – as good as Felice’s or Rosamond. Not the very best in the general area, but satisfactory.

Brilliant coffee. I love going in to get breakfast every now and again, but I’m a regular when it comes to their home made lunches.
