This row of tiny terraces on Henry St have been vacant and derelict for some time, and I’ve wondered what would become of them. The land must be hugely valuable but the houses are likely to be protected by a heritage overlay, so they could not be demolished. With work appearing to commence at the rear of the row I did a quick search and this revealed that the entire row is being redeveloped, which is possibly the best outcome.
The rear (above) and the front (below) of the terraces on Henry St. The plans are unclear as to whether the redevelopment is a single property or three separate 3 bedroom homes. With expansion into the deep back yards and perhaps upwards as well the latter is most likely.

The latter is indeed most likely. My guess is three town houses each house retaining single story edifice at front and shooting up to three stories boundary-to-boundary at back. Only garden option is roof garden. Heritage overlay means little in practice as guidelines (eg that houses do not cover more than 60% of land space, 3.6 Mheight of extensions) are routinely ignored and are non enforceable. What land-space will this cover? 95%

i used to live in one of these houses. it was such a great place.
