The shambolic and dodgy looking kebab shop next door to the Johnston club on Johnston St has closed and has been repossessed by the landlord. It was a failure even before it opened, which was a year behind schedule. It never gained a customer base and changed owners at least once. When it first opened kebab was spelled ‘kepab’ on the sign, which had to be redone. Occasionally you could see staff wearing their uniform shirt sleeping in a car parked illegally in the disabled bay out the front. It’s a lesson in how not to run a business…

‘Kebap’ is actually the correct Turkish spelling for kebab.

I am aware of that, but I don’t think ‘kepab’ is correct.
