Grant McCracken, AKA Rose St Markets spruiker dude, is one of Fitzroy’s iconic characters. Before he started the market gig, I’d seen him disrupting a property auction and talking to the paintings at a BSG show. Yesterday he was having fun putting in bids at an auction on Fitzroy St near the markets. He started at 5c, and his final best bid of 50c was not accepted.

the Rose St Markets spruiker dude can also currently be seen featured in an artwork in the front window of Hogan Gallery Smith Street, as part of an exhibition that started a couple of days ago.
