Red Hill in the Mornington Peninsula region contains many fantastic places to eat. On a recent trip I enjoyed a fabulous lunch at La Petanque and gobbled down cheeses from Main Ridge Dairy and Red Hill Cheeses. Another place I can recommend is Green Olive, where my girlfriend and I enjoyed a long brunch. The owners’ farm to table philosophy produces some wonderfully flavoursome food. We began with coffees and shared a rhubarb tart with berry coulis and cream (below).

We loved the spiced lamb sausage with capsicum and tomato relishes (below).

The chevre goat cheese with orange and cranberry marmalade and wood fired flat bread was amazing – the tartness of the marmalade and the soft saltiness of the cheese work so well together.

Egg tart with herbs, vegetables and goats cheese (below).

Hommus with dukkah and flat bread (below).
