Hyperlocal news about Melbourne's first suburb: Fitzroy 3065

lunch at La Parisienne, Lygon St Carlton

Years ago La Parisienne was located down a laneway at the back of Readings, and they only baked on Fridays, when I would end my working week with an escargot tart or rabbit pie.

I’ve not worked in Carlton since they moved to a prominent place on Lygon St with baked goods available every day and a huge range of other foods. There’s duck and venison pies too, and many filled baguettes.

I love the pate and cornichon baguette. Fortunately, there’s more to Lygon St than pizza. Cooked and bottled in Brunswick, Bear head soup, Ichigo shortcake and Consider the sauce all love La Parisienne too.
