Souvlaki King and the nonedescript place over the road in the BSG building both closed recently, leaving Sonsa and Lamb as the late night food survivors. It’s possible though that Souvlaki King is just undergoing renovations. I never saw a sign saying they had closed. The other place has a sign in the window that went up after I took these photos saying a sausage fast food shop is opening there.

@bitsroy has the info on both. Souvlaki king is closed for the next 10 days, https://twitter.com/#!/bitsroy/status/172984186808963074. Phat Brats seems to be opening next to your favourite donut place, https://twitter.com/#!/bitsroy/status/173240121091559426
PB sounds similar to Snag Stand at Melb Central. Just need a decent burger place on Brunswick St to complete the trifecta.

Why would you comment on a business closing down when they are clearly renovating? You are becoming a real serial pest for business’s on Brunswick St.

Because sometimes it’s impossible to tell the difference between temporarily closed for renovations or permanently closed. Nice superfluous apostrophe.

I can see why they would want to renovate Souvlaki King, as the front of where the footpath and front of the shop meet looks very grotty.

shame about the nondescript place … i like their pizza. there seem to be quite a few chain stores popping up on brunswick st at the moment.

That renovation sign has been up for more than 10 days (and is undated). I walk past most mornings, and haven’t seen any activity in there at all. My first thoughts were it’s gone out of business. Time will tell I guess

And what’s with the place next to Atomica? Renovations started, and now the For Lease sign is back up.

I don’t know – I hadn’t noticed that work had started there.
