I spent the long weekend in Beechworth, eating and drinking and walking around the town, including a leisurely meander through the grounds of the former Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum.

It certainly is a chilling place to walk around. Here is an interesting fact… I stopped to read one of the information boards recently as was amazed to learn that below the main car park are buried massive water tanks that capture the water from the roofs and are feed by every third post (which are obviously hollow) that hold up the walkway roof.
