afternoon tea at Storm in a Teacup, Smith St Collingwood

While I’m primarily a coffee drinker, I do have tea drinking friends and am willing to accompany them to drink things other than coffee, including tea at Storm in a Teacup. Located in the former Trippy Taco premises on Smith St, Storm in a Teacup is specialty tea cafe (albeit one that does serve coffee) that also makes fantastic cakes, including pear and red velvet.

I enjoyed my earl grey with lemon. The service is friendly and welcoming and the interior is lovely, light and bright with pastel green shelves and bar seats with lightning bolt shaped bases (see bottom photo). Storm in a Teacup received a conventionally positive review from Sugared n spiced, and an unconventional but mostly positive review from Cafe jerk. I like it, and I shall return.

  1. Great review! I walked past Storm in Teacup last week but I didn’t have time to stop by. I’m planning to check it out later this weekend

  2. Love this place! Choc brownies of awesomeness, and one of the best tea selections I’ve experienced…
