Fitzroy history – from draper to bank

The 10 Collective recruitment agency recently wrote about moving into the building at 141-145 Brunswick St, which houses the Fitzroy and Carlton Community Credit Cooperative on the ground floor, and they summarise the history of the building.

They also linked to a panoramic drawing looking north over East Melbourne, Fitzroy and Collingwood from the point of view from the roof of St Patrick’s Cathedral. The panoramic drawing details 8 significant Fitzroy buildings, including their building, which originally was a shop combining drapery, carpets and clothing.

A detail from the drawing showing the building is below, followed by a photo of the building as it is now.
