Hyperlocal news about Melbourne's first suburb: Fitzroy 3065

Red Tongue has closed

Red Tongue cafe on the corner of Brunswick and Victoria streets closed last week, and the signs in the window offer the space for a pop-up.

  1. No tears shed over this place…

  2. I lived a bit further down Victoria St for over a year, yet only visited this place twice. The outdoor tables were good on a sunny day, but the food was overpriced and mediocre. Surprised it lasted as long as it did, in some ways.

  3. That place was represented the worst of modern-day Brunswick Street

  4. The front looks like a inviting little spot for taggers, or a cosy little area for opportunistic drunks looking to evacuate their bladders.

  5. So glad they closed down so the space can be occupied by a worthwhile tenant.. Their food was positively awful, not to mention the decore.
