		<description><![CDATA[<p>When I went to Auckland recently I spent two days on <a href="http://www.waihekenz.com/">Waiheke Island</a>, which is about 40 minutes by ferry to the east of Auckland. It&#8217;s primarily rural and wine country, very touristy, with lovely beaches and a relaxed holiday atmosphere, though it is also a suburb of Auckland and people commute to the city from there by ferry every day.&hellip;</p>

<p>While visiting Muriwai Beach west of Auckland I drove through the <a href="http://www.kumeuwinecountry.co.nz/">Kumeu wine region</a>, and on the return drive stopped in to try some wine at <a href="http://www.kumeuriver.co.nz/">Kumeu River winery</a>. I liked their Pino Gris. At another time I also tried wine from <a href="http://www.matua.co.nz/">Matua Valley winery</a>, which was also good.&hellip;</p>

It was absolutely wonderful. The appetiser was an espresso sized shot of a deliciously smoky potato soup.&hellip;</p>

<p>When in Milawa over the weekend I stayed at <a href="http://www.lindenwarrah.com.au/">Lindenwarrah</a> on Saturday night and also ate at their restaurant. The room was large and comfortable but some diminishing factors became evident. The bathroom was nice but seemingly retro fitted, so that water flowed out under the shower door into the middle of the floor, where the lowest point of the floor was (despite the drain being in the shower.&hellip;</p>
