wining and dining – lunch at De Bortoli winery

Posted in Victoria, Yarra Valley, drink, food, travel, wine, wineries on August 20th, 2007

One of the relaxing things I did on the weekend was to drive to the Yarra Valley and taste some wonderful wines at various wineries, including De Bortoli. My girlfriend and I enjoyed their Pinot Noir and had lunch at their restaurant, which was delicious. Below is the pork sausage with gratin of silverbeet and parmesan, and celeriac and potato pureee. I recommend a visit.

a day in the Yarra valley – Healesville Hotel and Sticks winery

Posted in Victoria, Yarra Valley, drink, food, travel, wine, wineries on May 28th, 2007

On Sunday I went exploring in the Yarra Valley armed with my copy of the Foodies Guide. It’s a foodie paradise – cheese, hearty meals, wine, fresh air and time to think. I started at the Yarra Valley Dairy and then had lunch at the Healesville Hotel. I had the lamb shank and a friend had the beef ragu pasta. Both were fantastic.
