This is on the Greeves St side wall of Alimentari. The author of the comment refers to a much faded and degraded paste-up by Miso, over which the Australia / Invasion day poster had been pasted. A slap-down from a disgruntled postgraduate tutor who perhaps has their own issues. I doubt wankery is the primary cause of Aboriginal dislocation and loss of sovereignty.

Sarcastic criticism may amuse somewhat, but trashing someone else’s work in a way that makes it unviewable by others is not art criticism; it’s just more moronic graffiti vandalism. This is on Rose St. Some street art is not very good; some artists get better and some quickly disappear. As the audience we have no right to ‘deserve’ anything. If you don’t like it, leave it alone because someone else may.

Last week someone claiming to be the tagger ‘tres’ made a comment on a post I had written more than a year ago about competition between him and another tagger called ‘dick nose’ (dn). The comment suggested that dn was dead and that tres had misread the post as having just been written with reference to this.
Of course it was not as I do not associate with such people and did not know that dn was dead.…
