I like street artist Deb’s style and resilience. Despite her work being repeatedly vandalised by morons she seems to maintain a sense of dignity and professionalism. Her current work for fashion shop IDS on Brunswick St has been damaged for some time, but the other day the words ‘back soon to fix [signed] Deb’ appeared on the wall. Respect.

This is an amusing idea unfortunately badly executed on Deb’s contribution to the Rose St Markets mural. The scale is all wrong. If you’re going to add to an existing work like this please try harder next time.

a conspiracy of criticism

Update 24 June 2009: I should have mentioned this before but I spoke with Deb today and she asked me to update this post to say that this work was fixed very quickly! So if you’re looking at the Wizards mural on Rose St it is as good as new.
