Goodbye cafe 328. You have been closed for a while now. While I never came and ate at your place on the corner of Nicholson St and Leicester St because you looked a bit sad and scruffy, I now worry that whatever replaces you will paint over the groovy mural by Phibs and colleagues. Nicholson St is perhaps the least loved side of Fitzroy. I hope something new and exciting finds a good home here.…
In early October Deb and Phibs and other local street artists created this new mural on the side of the rear building of the Fitz cafe. The work is on Kerr St near the corner of Brunswick St. It’s light and bright and very cool!

I sometimes muse about commissioning an artist to do a feature wall in my flat. It would have to be something bright, sexy and intrinsically positive. However, I don’t know how I could choose only one thing and live with it for years, so instead I walk around looking at all the fantastic work of Melbourne artists on local walls. Feline sleekness makes me purr. This is one of Deb’s best pieces surrounded by by Phibs’ tribal motifs.…
