Michael and I spent Saturday afternoon at the Applecore Backyard Festival with some friends. The relaxed atmosphere and discovery of some great unfamiliar bands were obvious highlights, but we were also pretty chuffed that we avoided sunburn entirely thanks to some huge, cheap Big W hats. Even so, we were a little drained as evening fell and in need of some sustenance before heading home. Peacock Inn Hotel & 303 High Street

According to their website, the Peacock Inn;"was built in 1854 by Horace and Edwin Bastings. The following year they sold it to the 21-year-old George Plant. Northside Makers are thrilled to offer members our first workshop opportunity doing screenprinting at Olive Grove!Classes are run by the director of Olive Grove Studio, Roze Elizabeth. She teaches at RMIT's Fashion & Textiles school and recently conducted a workshop for Marysville residents as part of 'The Colour of Hope' project.Roze offers monthly workshops at Olive Grove Studio teaching the basics of screenprinting. Note- The rent is $500/month for a 5m x 4m space on the Mezzanine and communal shared space downstairs. This price covers bills and internet.
