It is so exciting to see Barkly Village evolve organically. While the Council drags its heels on its street beautification scheme, more and more of the ugly, empty shopfronts are filling up with colourful Indian restaurants, complementing the many existing Indian grocers. The West Footscray Neighbourhood House is riffing on the theme, hosting the first of its new four-yearly markets, this one based on Holi, the Indian festival of colours. FauxPho is a creative space located in the heart of Footscray and overlooks the Footscray Mall. The space is facilitated by the fauxHappiness committee, which comprises FauxPho studio artists and local arts workers. Our aim is to provide a diverse and flexible platform for contemporary art practice and dialogue. We endeavour to nurture a robust and interactive space for arts workers and the broader community through our exhibition program and events.

Victoria University students are invited to compete in the Southern University Games (SUG). In 2009, VU won 2 of the 3 peak awards - Overall Games Champion and Overall Games Champion based on Per Capita thanks to our talented students! The SUG is managed by Australian University Sport and will be held simultaneously with two other AUS regional events: the Eastern University Games and the Northern University Games.
You can join students during the mid semester break from Universities across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania at this multi sport event and represent VU competing in a wide range of sports. Participants can compete in:

We are after any old or new furniture that you may no longer require to help furnish the house they will be renting (trying to reduce their cost while living in Oz). They are only here for 6 months so the furniture can be returned to you once they leave, should you require it be returned. 1+1 = 2, right? A restaurant that is called, in part, "Dumpling Noodles", sells dumplings and noodles? Nothing overly exciting there. But this particular equation is a little more titillating than you might at first think, because the dumplings and noodles in question are actually Northwestern Chinese!
