Sandridge Beach was significantly cleaner than at the same time in 2009.* There was very little large litter around. Most of it was small pieces: cigarette butts, bread ties, straws and fragments of plastic. The worst places were the fishing areas where bait bags, fishing line and other litter was abundant. The focus of this year's Clean Up is our bays and waterways. Ian Kiernan, the inspirational founder of Clean Up Australia Day, asks people to pick up [Just 1] piece of litter each day.* See last year's post 1st March 2009

Mist has blanketed the bay these last two mornings. With no wind, the water is still like glass and the birds are quiet, making it eerily silent. And amazingly beautiful and peaceful! “Follow your bliss & the universe will open doors where there were only walls.” — Joseph Campbell “Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up & try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait & watch & work: you don’t give up.” — Anne Lamott
